This is Casey, a Castro Valley resident. She reached out to CVN to spread her message of hope and strength during trying times. She is recovering and healing from a relationship that involved domestic violence and is working on staying positive and strong. “My message is not ‘come support the victim’ but more like, ‘this person is thriving despite what happened and so can you.’ You’d be shocked at the statistics regarding how many women are dealing with domestic violence right now. It’s really ramped up since Covid hit,” Casey said. Her process of healing involves pursuing her life-long passion for yoga. She is focusing on empowering herself and others by creating an online yoga studio for herself and other teachers who have lost income due to the pandemic. “I just have a message right now that we are all so precious. I know it sounds cheesy, but we are!” she added.
