Not CV specific, but Hayward Unified School District may close several school sites under a budget proposal aimed to address a drastic decline in enrollment and a projected $14 million budget shortfall. One of the school sites (Strobridge) is extremely close to Castro Valley. On Monday, Oct. 18, HUSD will start a number of virtual town hall meetings on to discuss its “Operational Sustainability” plan and hear community feedback on the plan.List of Impacted School Sites -The following list of schools facing possible closure or relocation is part of the district’s initial proposal.
