#castrovalley#news#fyi – The California Department of Public Health has updated its #covid guidelines, allowing high school sports like football, baseball, and soccer to start playing again on February 26 after being prohibited for nearly 12 months. Outdoor sports may resume in any county that has fewer than 14 cases per 100,000 residents, which includes many counties in California’s red and purple tiers and every Bay Area county except for Contra Costa and Solano. Higher contact sports like football and water polo will require regular testing for coaches and players older than 13 in some counties and other sports will have to follow safety guidelines. Indoor sports are not affected by the updated guidelines.
