#castrovalley#news#fyi – Info from a public post on March 6 by Lawren Allphin Cotcher about the passing of CVHS teacher Terry Cotcher, “It is with the utmost heartbreak that we let you all know of the passing of our beloved husband, father, Papa, and father-in-law, Terry. Although our time with him seemed unfairly short, the love he imparted on us will last us a thousand more years. Terry was absolutely in love with, in awe of, and completed by his wife Elisa, who has poured her heart and soul into caring for him. He was prouder of nothing more than his daughter Tera, and his son Joe. He beamed with pride upon glancing at them or talking about them, and watching them build successful lives made him feel incomparable happiness. His children are his legacy, and they are the exact legacy he dreamed of creating. He kept his family traveling, learning, loving, and striving to be the best versions of themselves. Similarly, he did this for hundreds of students who, to this day, continue to tell us the ways he made their days brighter and their minds broader. Terry’s grandchildren, Ava, Jesse, Mack, and Joey, may not have known the same quick-witted and clear-minded Papa that we did, but Terry never lost the ability to make them feel all his love. Amazing how love communicates when words fail us. Terry will be deeply missed by his brothers, sisters, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law, as well as his beloved nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. A celebration of Terry’s life will be held at a later date, in order to safely accommodate those who loved and continue to love him. In the meantime, please keep our Terry’s legacy alive by loving and laughing and learning.”
